MY WATER PRESSURE IS LOW. DO I NEED A NEW WATER PUMP?
No. Although it is true that your water pump is what makes the
pressure in your storage tank it is the pressure switch that tells the pump when to turn off. A slight
adjustment and some air in the tank may be all you need. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ADJUST THIS YOURSELF. Please click the CONTACT US link below to have your pump and plumbing performance evaluated.

DO I NEED WATER FILTRATION OR TREATMENT?
Every private water supply should at least have a whole house sediment filter. Without
doing a water quality test you don't know how to treat your water, but poor quality water will leave signs around
your house. Please click the WATER QUALITY link below to learn what these signs are.

MY WATER PRESSURE "SURGES", WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
This is known as rapid cycling. The probable cause is the air pressure in the
storage tank is too low. Depending on the type of tank you have it may just need to be recharged to the proper pressure.
If you have a bladder or air cell style tank it probably needs to be replaced. VERY IMPORTANT!
A lot of people let this go. The result is the water pump expires because the electric motor is being turned on repeatedly
and is not getting proper cooling. It is one of the worst things you can do to a pump and now you have incurred the cost of
replacing the water pump as well as the storage tank.
DOES MY WELL REQUIRE ANY MAINTEANCE?
You should have your well chlorinated annually. At that time, OLD FAITHFUL PUMP CO. will inspect the
integrity of your well cap and collect a water sample for a free "HIP" test. (Hardness, Iron, Ph)
